Working while finalizing your degree is quite the balancing act for today’s accounting students. Balancing course load and work schedules can be a challenge. Why not get paid to work in the industry for which you are training? Get real-life, hands-on experience in not only the nuances of accounting and tax work, but in a real-world office environment as part of an established team!

Job Summary

Coming on board as a busy season intern will give you the knowledge you need to launch your career in public accounting by working with professionals experienced in a vast array of public accounting offerings including tax and auditing. We also offer the option of continuing our mutual relationship after successful completion of our program.

Located in Frankfort, Illinois, our firm prides itself on not only looking to the future of our business but also the future of our Team. Our internship program is different in that we offer a 6-week “Introduction” Program, mid-June to late July, that consists of 2-week introductions to the 3 areas of a CPA firm – Bookkeeping, Tax and Audit. This program offers the student a chance to see what area may interest them most for the busy season programs that run from January through April and August through October.

Duties to include:

• Monthly accounting and reconciliation of client books
• Preparation of 1099’s, W2’s and other payroll returns
• Preparation of individual and business tax returns
• Preparation for audit work and workpapers
• Other duties as needed

To qualify for the program:

• Must be an accounting major
• Must have completed at least one tax course
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Must be able to work in Frankfort office

Internship applications deadlines:

6-week Introduction program (mid-June to late-July) – April 1st – candidates notified by 5/1
Tax season (January to April) – November 1st – candidates notified by 12/1
Extension season (August to October) – June 1st – candidates notified by 7/1
