Job Summary

DSWD is currently seeking an Accounting and Audit Manager for its CPA firm located in Frankfort, IL. The Accounting and Audit Manager will demonstrate a strong ability to lead engagements in accounting, audit and assurance and will serve as the primary reviewer of certain audits at the firm.  The chosen applicant for this position will maintain both the integrity of our firm and our clients by upholding our company core values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed review procedures on audited statements
  • Performs other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed on engagements
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Recognizes potential problem areas in specific engagements and reacts accordingly
  • Facilitates the engagement planning process
  • Identifies with more complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving client audits
  • Responsible for assisting and delegating responsibility and jobs to team members

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Master’s degree in Accounting desired
  • CPA required
  • Four or more recent years of experience in public accounting and auditing
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Strong computer knowledge: proficient in audit software and MS Office Suite
  • Proven ability to work well with others and find solutions to audit related matters

Audit Associate - Full-Time

DSWD is currently seeking an Audit Associate for its boutique CPA firm located in Frankfort, IL. The Audit Associate will demonstrate a strong ability to conduct engagements in accounting audit and assurance.  This person will also have some experience working in tax preparation. The ideal candidate chosen for this chair will maintain both the integrity of our firm and our clients by upholding our company core values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, prepares and adjusts workpapers from clients’ trial balance
  • Performs other accounting, auditing, tax and consulting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
  • Self-starter and team player with ability to recognize when additional hour commitments are needed and willingness to take on extra work to meet firm wide deadlines
  • Recognizes potential problem areas in specific engagements and discusses them with engagement supervisor
  • Participates in the engagement planning process
  • Assists with more complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements
  • Becomes proficient at preparing financial statements/tax returns using the firm’s software programs
  • Performs other related accounting duties as assigned

Tax Associate - Full-Time

Job Summary

DSWD is currently seeking a full-time Tax Associate/Professional for its boutique CPA firm located in Frankfort, IL. The Tax Professional will demonstrate an ability to prepare and prioritize multiple tax engagements to ensure the execution and delivery of excellent quality tax services to our clients. This individual will be a part of a team responsible for managing tax reporting and compliance to ensure tax returns are completed accurately as well as timely, to minimize tax obligations.  The Tax Professional will also be required to do tax planning for future tax filings. The ideal candidate chosen for this chair will maintain both the integrity of our firm and our clients by upholding our company core values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, benefit plans and exempt organizations
  • Prepare internal communication and written correspondences for submission to the IRS and other tax authorities
  • Perform research to assist with the identification and implementation of strategic tax initiatives
  • Perform technical analysis of tax issues impacting clients and draft supporting memoranda
  • Analyze tax data to determine tax projections and recommendations based on the projections
  • Continuously maintain current knowledge of tax laws, research and implement impact to clients
  • Conducts numerous IRS and or state income tax examinations
  • Prepare and review year-end accounting entries and assist clients with accounting issues
  • Driven and hardworking, willing to help whenever necessary
  • Maintains current and up to date knowledge of acceptable tax accounting practices, laws, regulations and procedures
  • Performs other related accounting duties as assigned
